Men can enjoy spa treatments too

Zorgvliet Spa is currently in the process of making men feel more welcome in the spa environment by instituting spa treatments customized for men. According to the Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire’s senior spa director, Ian Mackiespa has been perceived as very feminine. The industry has done very little to encourage men to undergo spa treatments.

There is a difference in, for example, the pressure used during massage treatments for men and women. Men also prefer hotter face towels than women. The Zorgvliet SpaRiviera on Vaal Hotel’s on-site relaxation station, has developed three special spa experience packages, attending to these differences. The Golfer’s Deluxe is a package tailor made for the male golfer who is often seen roaming the resort. It consists of three hours’ relaxation, including a Sauna, Indian Head Massage, African Foot Scrub and Reflexology, as well as a Swedish Full Body Massage. The Gentleman package also includes a Sauna, but Zorgvliet Spa has added treatments like a Male Pedicure, a Deep Cleanse Facial Treatment and a Hot Stone Full Body Massage to it. The third package is one for the men with less time for relaxing and takes only an hour and 15 minutes from their day. This includes an African Foot Scrub, a Back, Neck and Shoulder Massage and a Scalp Massage. Visit Riviera on Vaal’s blog, blogonvaal, for a YouTube video of what to expect of the male spa experience at Zorgvliet Spa by clicking here:  Men can enjoy spa treatments too.

Visit Zorgvliet Spa on Mondays to Fridays from 07:00 to 20:00, Saturdays or public holidays from 08:00 to 18:00 and on Sundays from 08:00 to 16:00. Book your spa treatment by calling 016 420 1314 or send Zorgvliet Spa an email at enquiries@zorgvlietspa.co.za.

And the winner is…

The N3 Gateway Tourism Association recently hosted a competition in conjunction with tourism organizations and establishments along the N3, including the Riviera on Vaal Hotel and Country Club, with the aim of creating awareness of the N3 Gateway brand and growing their social media community.

The Riviera on Vaal Hotel and Country Club joined forces with Vaal 21 (a cross-border initiative between Sedibeng’s municipalities) to assist in gaining more exposure for the Vaal Triangle through its involvement at relevant Tourism Expo’s. They also recently sponsored one of the Getaway Show competitions’ prizes, which included a two night weekend for two, dinner and breakfast as well as a spa treatment at the Zorgvliet Spa or the option of a round of golf for each person. This fabulous prize was valued at R15 000.00. Mrs. Karin Coetzer Swanepoel was the lucky winner of the grand prize and she commented the following on winning the prize: “Thanks to N3 Gateway Tourism Association and also to the Interim Regional Tourism Council’s Riviera on Vaal Hotel and Country Club for my super prize!”

Most of the competition entrants enjoy relaxing with friends and spending time with their families. Photography, eating at restaurants, visiting historical sites and health spas were also some of the holiday interests that were highlighted during the competition, which made the Riviera on Vaal Hotel and Country Club’s prize worth every competing effort.

More information on the N3 Gateway Tourism Association could be found on their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/N3Gateway, or visit their website on www.n3gateway.com.

Matt’s prepares for Christmas at River Square

Vereeniging – 2 November 2012. Matt’s Foundation will be manning a gift wrapping and donation station at River Square from 5 November until 8 December. All proceeds will go towards creating an extra special Christmas for all the children Matt’s Foundation supports.

A large Christmas tree will be the mascot of the campaign, carrying hearts with children’s names written on them. Shoppers passing by can pick a heart from the tree, representing a child from the Vaal Triangle’s Christmas gift which they can then sponsor. Matt’s Foundation will assist in wrapping the presents and delivering them to safe houses and orphanages supported by the Foundation. Additional funds will also be raised by selling Matt’s mugs, fridge magnets and Christmas tree decorations. The Christmas tree decorations were all handmade by the children themselves.

Matt’s Foundation is in need of volunteers to help man the Christmas station. To offer your assistance, please contact Carmen on 016 455 6100 or email helpus@mattsfoundation.co.za.
